Are you dog friendly?
Yes, we welcome all dogs to our pub. We love seeing our regular four-legged friends along with some new faces. We only ask that they remain on a lead for the duration of their visit.
Do you cater for allergies and dietary requirements?
Absolutely! We can cater to a wide range of dietary requirements and allergies. Simply let us know about your needs when booking or upon arrival so we can make sure everything is prepared safely for you.
How far are you from Ipswich?
We’re only a short drive from Ipswich, around 10 minutes by car and approximately 12 minutes from Ipswich Station. To reach us, exit the A14 at the A137 junction towards Wherstead. Continue on the A137, then take the B1456 to Freston, and keep driving until you reach the pub. We provide free, on-site parking. If you’re travelling by public transport, there’s a bus stop directly across the road from the pub.
Do you have a children’s menu?
Yes, for children or those with a smaller appetite, you can order any of our burgers or mains that are under £20 for £10. This comes with a free selected drink for children under 10 years old. On Sundays, we serve a Mini Roast for £8, or you can order a slightly bigger Standard Roast for £12.
Do you offer private dining?
We offer private dining spaces that are perfect for all celebrations, business lunches, or even intimate gatherings. If you’re interested, reach out to our Events Team to find out more or make a booking.
Are you open on Christmas Day?
No, we close on Christmas Day to provide our employees time to celebrate with their friends and family.
Is the venue accessible for disabled guests?
The Freston Boot has step-free access throughout the venue, accessible toilets, and suitable seating arrangements. If you require assistance during your visit or have any questions, reach out and our team will be happy to help.
Do you use local produce?
At the Freston Boot, we’re proud to support our local communities wherever possible by sourcing fresh, seasonal produce from neighbouring suppliers. In addition, we grow a selection of ingredients that feature in our dishes in our own kitchen garden.
Are you child-friendly?

What events do you have coming up?
We organise a variety of events throughout the year, including seasonal celebrations, live comedy nights, movie screenings in the Kino, and much more. Do you have a cinema?
We do. We offer regular movie showings and private screenings for up to 12 people in our cosy Kino. The Kino is set in one of our outbuildings and features repurposed seating from Great Yarmouth, Southwold, and Paris. For upcoming showings, please visit our Cinema page.
Can you host private events?
Yes, we can host a wide range of private events, from funerals to weddings and christenings to birthdays.
